Health & Safety

Acleaningprogramthatprotectspeoplefirst.

Customer satisfaction and the health and safety of every space we touch are the foundation of how Yes Building Cleaning Service operates. This is how we deliver them.

Our standard

Cleaning is more than appearances. It’s a health discipline.

The pandemic taught every property owner what janitorial professionals have always known: cleaning, sanitation and disinfection are not the same thing — and the difference matters.

We approach every site with that respect. Whether we are servicing a busy healthcare-adjacent office, a federal building, a manufacturing floor or a family home, our crews follow documented procedures, work with manufacturer-approved products and use the right PPE for the task. The aesthetics matter — but the health outcome matters more.

Six pillars

The foundations of every site program.

No matter how small or specialised a job is, these six principles run through it.

Documented procedures

Every site has a written cleaning plan, hazard register and inspection log so nothing is left to memory. Our supervisors review programs regularly with you and our team.

Trained, screened crews

Cleaners are trained on chemical handling, WHMIS, biohazard protocols and customer-site rules. Government and institutional clients receive screened, uniformed personnel.

Approved products

We use professional-grade, manufacturer-approved cleaning products and disinfectants — applied with the correct dwell times and dilutions to actually do their job.

PPE and hazard control

Crews are equipped with task-appropriate PPE — gloves, eye protection, respirators and disposable garments — for biohazard, post-construction and chemical-intensive jobs.

Cross-contamination control

Colour-coded microfibre systems, separate equipment for washrooms versus food zones, and strict pathways prevent cross-contamination between high-risk and clean areas.

Insurance and accountability

We are fully insured and bonded for the work we perform, with clear scopes, sign-offs and a single point of contact so accountability never gets lost in a chain of subcontractors.

Our process

A six-step program from walk-through to inspection.

A repeatable system is the only way to keep quality and safety consistent across hundreds of sites and shifts. Here is the spine of ours.

  1. 01

    Walk-through & risk assessment

We start every relationship with an on-site walk-through to understand the building, its uses, traffic, materials and risk profile. The result is a written cleaning plan, not a verbal handshake.

  2. 02

    Documented site program

Each location gets a tailored program: scope, frequency, products, PPE, escalation paths and a clear point of accountability. Crews follow the plan, supervisors review it.

  3. 03

    Trained, screened, equipped crews

Personnel are trained on chemical handling, WHMIS, biohazard protocols and customer-site rules, and receive task-appropriate PPE. Government and institutional clients get screened, uniformed teams.

  4. 04

    Approved products & dwell times

We use professional, manufacturer-approved cleaning agents and disinfectants — applied with the correct dilutions and contact times so they actually do what the label says.

  5. 05

    Cross-contamination control

Colour-coded microfibre systems, separate equipment for washrooms versus food-prep zones and disciplined task pathways stop high-risk areas from contaminating clean ones.

  6. 06

    Inspection, feedback & improvement

Supervisors inspect work against the site checklist. Issues are logged and closed out, and we review programs with customers to keep raising the bar over time.

Compliance & training

What our crews are trained on.

Yes Building Cleaning Service maintains an internal training program that goes well beyond mop-and-bucket basics.

WHMIS & chemical safety

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training is the baseline. Crews learn to read SDS sheets, follow dilution tables and escalate when chemistry doesn't match the surface.

PPE & biohazard protocols

Task-appropriate gloves, eye protection, respiratory protection and disposable garments. Biohazard work follows containment, double-bagging and regulated-waste procedures.

Disinfection science

Cleaning, sanitising and disinfection are different. Crews are trained on contact times, surface compatibility and the correct sequence so disinfectants actually work.

Quality inspections

Supervisors run inspections against site-specific checklists. Issues are logged, addressed and closed out so problems don't quietly recur.

Site security & confidentiality

After-hours work, key control, visitor protocols and confidentiality matter. Crews servicing sensitive sites are screened and uniformed.

Insurance & accountability

We are fully insured and bonded. Our scope of work, sign-offs and primary point of contact keep accountability clear from day one.
